Katie, who is a Program Coordinator at the St. Louis University Center for Service and Community, became involved with La Salle through the Readers to Leaders Program. This program pairs LaSalle eighth graders with third graders at St. Gabriel’s School in South St. Louis. Together, the students read books about black history and learn about the character strengths shown by these individuals. In addition to her involvement in Readers to Leaders, Katie volunteers her time as a tutor at LaSalle.
